Strikeborn Characters: Current Roster, Aliases, and Playstyles

See which Strikeborn characters are playable right now — Vessel Sorcerer (Yuji), Black Swordsman (Guts), and Sukuna — plus incomplete roster slots, aliases, and broad playstyle summaries to help you pick a main to research.

Strikeborn currently has three complete kits: Vessel Sorcerer (Yuji), Black Swordsman (Guts), and Ryomen Sukuna. Jinchuriki (Naruto) and Wild Hunter (Gon) exist as roster slots with incomplete tools, and a Fire Fighter character is in development. All three complete kits share S tier in the early-access snapshot, so the choice between them is playstyle rather than strength. Strikeborn is a Roblox paid early-access game from SSSStudio, and the roster can change with any update, so recheck slot status after each character patch.

Playstyle summaries of the complete kits

  • Vessel Sorcerer (Yuji) — rushdown: fast M1s, Black Flash stacks from perfect blocks/dodges, Divergent Fist, Slide Kick (a main air-combo setup), Cursed Beat Down, and Manji Kick, which doubles as a counter. He is the default character you spawn in as, has faster M1s than Guts, and is the most-played kit partly for that reason.
  • Black Swordsman (Guts) — heavy zoner with reach: slower, longer-range M1s (third hit uppercut, fourth hit slam), Ground Splitter, Ironclad Thrust, Repeater (crossbow with a bomb variant), Prosthetic Arm Cannon, hyper armor on some moves, and a Berserker awakening with Carnage Grip and Abyssal Rend. He rewards spacing and patience.
  • Sukuna (King of Curses) — aggressive brawler with a destructive kit: Pulverize, Dismantle (with a hold-S world-cutting slash variant), Onslaught block breaker, Flame Arrow, and a King of Curses awakening; creator commentary describes him as well suited to public servers.

Note that the move names above come from footage-based creator guides, not independently reproduced live-build testing, so treat exact variants and damage values as subject to change.

Incomplete slots and availability uncertainty

  • Jinchuriki (Naruto) is reported as disabled/unavailable in creator footage ("Character disabled. I can't use Naruto.").
  • Wild Hunter (Gon) appears in roster footage with minimal content — early test footage showed roughly one move, and creators noted his base was unfinished. Creator commentary in this slot is inconsistent: one clip described a Gojo-labelled character as having one move, while other footage attributed a single move (Janken Rock) to the Wild Hunter slot, so early video attributions here are uncertain. Gon's current selectability and kit completeness have not been verified beyond footage; check the in-game roster to confirm what is selectable right now.

These slots should not be treated as finished content. The public free build is gated on three complete characters, and the game itself carries 16+ gates in some regions with join-from-friends access that can fail, so availability can differ per account and per date.

Choosing a starter main

  • Choose Yuji if you want to learn the game, play on mobile or controller, need more forgiving swing timing, or want faster confirms into air routes.
  • Choose Guts if you play on PC with shift lock, want spacing and range practice, or prefer slower, more deliberate combat. He performs better in open courtyards where his range is an advantage; Yuji closes distance faster in tight ruins.
  • Both complete sword-and-fist mains sit in S tier in the early-access snapshot — the difference is playstyle, not strength.
  • Do not choose an incomplete character (Jinchuriki, Gon) as a main; they are portraits with missing skills, and ranking them would be premature while their kits are unfinished.
